Show Notes

What happens when marriage is treated as the goal—or even a measure of spiritual maturity—in Christian communities?

In Episode 12 of Our Summer of “Wonder-Full” Women Who Inspire Us Podcast Series, Anne Miranda speaks with author Karissa Sovdi about her book, Surviving Christianity Unmarried. Karissa shares how assumptions about marriage shaped her understanding of faith, identity, belonging and purpose—and what it took to embrace the life God had already given her.

Together, they explore the stigma surrounding singleness, the pressure to “fix” it and how churches can better recognize, include and celebrate single people. This honest conversation is a reminder that God’s love, goodness and purpose are not dependent on relationship status.
